Definition of Terms

We use a lot of words when we talk. I don’t think we’re alone in this. However, as with any tight-knit group of people to talk weekly, we tend to come up with our own terms and use common words in a new way, and they become a part of our conversation.
New people to Volcanicast may not know what a given term means. This little glossary is for you. Enjoy.

Friend Of The Show.
When you’ve been doing this as long as we have, certain topics keep coming up. Some of these topics crop up at random times, and others seem to come up weekly.

Enemy Of The Show.
Not every topic we discuss is a fun one. And those unfun topics that keep recurring cannot be Friends Of The Show, so we (starting right after our anniversary show, thanks to a suggestion from listener Crazy Nutso) have dubbed them instead Enemies Of The Show. - Skip:
We have lives. Not important ones, but they do exist. When we’d have more than 40 topics total in a week, we each get to skip enough topics to get the total under 40. Generally, that means we each have 13 topics.
Usually we at least mention what the term was for, but we don’t do our patented in-depth analysis of the term.
We frequently skip Enemies Of The Show, such as UFC championships and things having to do with American Idol. - Topic Irrelevant:
After discussion between the three hosts, it appears that the only one who likes Topic Irrelevant is Wesley so we’re dropping the idea. It is a pain in the butt to maintain so I don’t think it’ll be missed.
With the inception of the Skip and a little brainpower, it becomes possible to determine the most likely topic to be skipped. In Football, the very last player to be drafted is dubiously dubbed Player Irrelevant, because he’s the single most likely player to not play. Likewise, the single last topic drafted on the day with the single most topics is dubbed Topic Irrelevant.
Said topic has no special status. It does not need to be skipped, and it’s not a bonus skip or anything. It’s just the most likely to be skipped.
