Volcanicast Tribute Show

Volcanicast April 19th, 2010

Thanks to Crazy Nutso we have a tribute show, or perhaps a best-of.

Really. Thank you CN. This is amazing.

Among the awesome is something that perhaps you did not intend. As this is done in roughly chronological order, I am amazed at the quality increase in the show over time.

Enjoy!

    * It’s a funny show. It’s longer then it should be.
    * My apologies to Sean, C. A. Sizemore, Adam, Mr Hooters, and Will and anyone else I may have missed. I did try to get all the ‘main hosts’ in (And made a special effort to put Chris in) but toward the end I was getting a little burned out, so. . .
    * Anyhow, it’s awefully hard to get a clip of Sean. Even while going through a show in which he’s on.
    * But the experience has given me a greater appriciation for what Wes & Co do. Damn is that a lot of work.
    * For example, my fading in and out of the music was not up to Volcanicast standards.
** By music, I mean Watermellon Slim, not when the cast ’sing’. Don’t fear, I didn’t find as many as I planned on, or the show would have been much longer.
    * The end blooper is not as funny as end bloopers usually are (There are at least 2 end blooper bits in this show) but I heard it and thought it was awesomly appropriate.
    * Also another appology to Sean, I didn’t do the ‘Sam saying What’ mix.
    * I also didn’t follow an idea Wes had and write a parody of ‘We Didn’t Start The Fire’ with Volcanicast topics in it.
** I had the chorus sort of thought up (Why Is This Shit Volcanic?) but never really went from there.
** Being that I would have been ’singing’ it myself, you’re welcome.
    * Looking forward to the next ‘really big show’.

The show was awesome, even if I wasn’t in it. Actually, I’ve been listening to Episodes 150 and 151 of “Digital Cowboys” which are about making podcasts, and if I’d known half of that stuff I’d have been able to make a much better contribution to the show. “Yoga Stick” and “Numb Penis” are two classic segments I’m glad made it in. Brilliant job, Mr. Nutso.

Well I presume that you now know twice as much as you needed to know back then. If you’d like to contribute a review or discussion of a suitably geeky topic send me an email or comment on the weekly.pulpaudio.com blog and we’ll figure something out. Just don’t email the volcanicast email address, it’s be’d deleted.

weekly.pulpaudio.com, you say? Are you going to drop a plug for that into the volcanicast feed, or are you just going to assume all 12 Volcanicast listeners will find it themselves?

I’m'a gonna announce it next week, after we release show #2. Planet Retcon won’t get an announcement until the week after that, and then after that we’ll start thinking wide scale promotion. Don’t want to get too many people checking it out before we’re satisfied with it.
