- Town in Newfoundland, Canada.
- - Used to be a major refueling spot for transatlantic flights.
- - Still the major stop for transatlantic flights with emergencies.
- - Many planes landed there on September 11, 2001 after the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center and Pentagon.
- - - 39 landed there, more than at any other Canadian airport except Halifax.
- - - 6,600 people - adding 2/3 more to the 10,000 population, stayed for 3 days in the town.

- - I don’t know.

- - Seeing as it was the final weekend of the Winter Olympics, I presume it was highlighted.

- Ventura is a little beach town just south of Santa Barbara in California.
- Or an hour north of LA if you don’t know where Santa Barbara is.
- By large I guess it depends on what normal is.
- That’s 12 feet.
- Ie that is in normal range for NZ.
- For Ventura they were concerned about waves of 2-3 feet rolling in.
- To the point they issued a tsunami warning, cleared the beaches, wouldn’t let anyone sit on the rocks and cleared some of the town.
- For a 2-3 foot wave.
- You can’t even surf on that.
- Why did they do this?
- That earthquake in Chille that rocked the county for 8.8 on the scale.
- Generated large waves.
- Ok. It generated waves.
- Some hit harder than others.
- Hiwaii got 3-4 foot waves, NZ got 2 feet waves, Aussie didn’t really get anything, French Polynesia got 5-6 foot waves.
- The pacific had some of these, but after the giant tsunani on Christmas thru the indian ocean a few years back, they have been dropping these things as fast as they can.
- The waves were thought to have been bigger and faster, however the giant pacific trentches seemed to have taken some of the force and slowed the waves.
- They were projected to get to NZ with 2 meters within 6 hours. Took 14 hrs and were 2 feet.

- - - There was a firmware bug that caused the PS3 system clock to reflect the date incorrectly
- - - - It did not affect the “Slim” models, which had newer firmwrare
- - - While messages from Sony indicated that they were working on a fix, the bug simply worked itself out after a day
- - - - Users were understandably grumpy that they couldn’t play on their expensive magical video boxes
- - - - - While I’d like to say that’s another blow to DRM, which really only ever adversely affects paying customers, the truth is it’ll be ignored and forgotten

2. hockey overtime rules (WES)

- There are no “Hockey Overtime Rules”
- - Mostly because they seem to change the rules every few years.
- - It doesn’t help that there are 37 hockey leagues in North America, each with their own rules.

- Most recently, in the NHL (Which seems to be the favorite league), overtime is a single 5-mintue period.
- - If you score during that time, your team wins.
- - If neither team scores, you go into a shootout situation.
- - - To start the shootout, three shots are taken at the goal by each team.
- - - Whoever gets the most goals wins.
- - - If neither team has the most goals, they start alternating taking shots.
- - - When a team makes a goal, the other team must answer with a goal as well, or they lose.

- - Someone mentioned it somewhere after the quake, and people got all curious.

- Killed 17 women, however was only convicted of 9.
- I guess that’s almost 50/50 for him.

- After his stepdad/foster dad commited suicide in 1989, Joel kinda flipped.

- Had an auto accident in August 2008.
- Had surgery the day after the accident to repair his broken shoulder, elbow and forearm along with the nerve damage.
- Was reported at the time of the accident that he would make a full recovery.
- He has not made a full recovery.
- He has no feeling or ability to move his left hand.
- Now wears a glove to help with the swelling of not moving the hand at all.
- Drs still state he will regain feeling in the hand.
- WEll, it does take about 7 years for the nerve cells to regenerate.
- I wonder how long the statute on sueing for surgery that didn’t work is.
- I bet less than 7 years!
- Well, everyone wanted to know what was up when they saw him with a glove on his left hand.
- Which he also reported on the state of his hand while on the red carpet for ” The Eastwood Factor.”

- - For the 2nd time in less than a year, he’s been accused of sexual assault.
- - - The first time was in July of 2009
- - - - A young lady from Nevada accused him of being one of nine people who “assaulted” her in a hotel room.
- - - - - Roethlisberger got off on the “What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas” rule.
- - - - - - Actually that’s not true.
- - - - - - - This was in Lake Tahoe.
- - - - - - - And there was 0 evidence.
- - - This time, he is being accused of sexually assaulting a woman near the Georgia College campus.
- - - - Unlike last time, the woman in question did not wait a full year to file the report.
- - - - She went to the hospital and police immediately after he allegedly raped her in the bathroom of a bar.

* Debby is another great peanut for the galley. Of course, if you also have Hooters and the two disembodied voices in the room, that’d be a lot of woman in the room. (As Sam would say)
* I would imagine that ‘Big Ben’ will retain his popularity here in Pittsburgh as long as he doesn’t continue to lose to crappy teams from Ohio.
* Also, Hooters shouldn’t feel bad about having her mike turned off. She’ll have to have it turned off a lot more to catch up with Bob in ‘number of times mike has been turned off’.

Well, no complaints so far about the show not being edited (Except Crazy Nutso, but he complains about everything). Nobody saying they *liked* it or anything…
This won’t be a regular thing, don’t worry. I just really didn’t feel like it, and didn’t remember anything that needed cut out (Well, there was one thing, but as I cut it out, you’ll never know) aside from the interruptions and ums, and… well… I didn’t care enough :)
* Well, it’s like the old song says, if you can’t bitch at the ones you love, love the ones you bitch at. Or whatever.
* I don’t really mind the ‘unedited’ bit, but you should be getting a long voice mail from Drew, detailing his disdain for long shows.

* * I’d put it in my Netflix queue, but it doesn’t seem to have ever been released on DVD.
* * I thought I’d seen everything of his except Westward Ho, which I refuse to watch on principle.

* Going Berserk is on DVD, but not by itself. Look for “John Candy Comedy Favorites Collection” featuring Uncle Buck, The Great Outdoors & Going Berserk.
** I wouldn’t say it’s a great movie, as it’s more or less an SCTV movie, kind of an extended sketch, but at least on par with ‘Howard the Duck’.

* I still think the highlight of the show is when Hot Debbie (I did fix that JUST FOR YOU Hooters!) said she didn’t want to eat into the mike. Her first show and she’s already far more professional then 1/3 of the cast. (without mentioning any (Bob’s) names.

* Also got my Tremors: The complete series and am enjoying it immensly. I’ve seen the original film and loved it, seen most of the sequels (except for the old west one) and have to say it’s pretty good. Of course, with Michael Gross & (occasionally) Christopher Lloyd, how can they miss?
